Having offers from both with tc difference ~ (Amazon 30k more). Which would you choose? Both seem to have good prospects for sure. Which RSU have more upside potential at this point? Which is better for future marketability & internal growth perspective?
Take the higher offer
MS is lower, but thought benefit seems to make it up. Doesn't MS stock have more upside potential at this point?
I feel like Microsoft stock is near its peak right now. It'll definitely grow, but I'm not sure how much more
I thought amazon RSU vesting scheme is not so good 😊
Not good at all. 5/15 for first 2 years compensated by sign ons.
Even 401k employer match vesting has 3 yr cliff
Can you please share the numbers?
You’d prob be better served by naming the groups you’d be going to and asking if those groups aren’t miserable. Don’t choose AWS bc of TC, you likely won’t even make it past year 1
AMZN. 30k is a lot
30k is not much, MS will make it up for you because they have annual refresher (while Amazon doesn't). Amazon won't give you an extra cent for the first two years, and even after that they will keep telling you you're above our target and won't give you more. But MS gives you refresher every year even if you only meet expectations. Also WLB in MS is much better than Amazon. I work at Amazon and my wife is at MS and I know what I'm talking about. I'd go with MS for sure. Plus, MS general benefits and perks (insurance, prime card discounts, sport and exercise support, 401k, daycare expenses, ...) are much higher and better than Amazon.
MS has Espp?
Yes
Don’t forget the 50% immediate vest 401k match at ms
Yes this is really good for sure. How easy is tuition assistance approved?
Ms better any day with just 30k difference
30k is not worth Amazon's frugality crap. Worked at Amazon and now at Microsoft and 30k is almost equal to the amount Microsoft spents on your benefits in terms of 50% 401k match, Health and Fitness support, Prime card discounts etc. If you have a family, those supports are also much better. You get Refreshers every year, low but still better than Amazon's nothing. Also about stock price, Mcsfts PE ratio is a mere 30 and Amazon's is way bloated. Both companies will go up but assuming that MSFT is on the peak and might be hard is just wrong. Last but not the least, if you work in Amazon, you can't really live in Bellevue, But you work in Microsoft, go get a house in Cap Hill cause the super convenient Microsoft Shuttles!!!!
Shuttle sounds really nice. I don’t know much about the area, how wide is housing selection within shuttle service?
What level tc and yoe?
