Got an interview call from Amazon Blink for Business Intelligence (Massachusetts office). Any inputs on what to expect?
Also how is the work life balance at Blink? I was told the team is new and small.
Globally Impactful, but Long Hours and Challening Work
If you love working, this is the place for you. Zero work-life balance, there is always more to do and why haven't you done it already? Why haven't you been the star you were hired to be? Very exciting work, always changing, never a dull moment... which cuts both ways. No time to relax or enjoy the fruits of your labor. Go. Go. Go. Pros...Great opportunities for demonstrating your skills
Cons...You must always demonstrate your skills at a high level to succeed. Be mentally prepared to answer lots of customer call related to all situations. Must be very patient and a good listener. willing to show empathy at all times and think outside the box. Be open to understanding customers and abusive ones as well. Amazon is a perfect example of a real-world that benefits from the application of Business Intelligence. Complex, challenging problems will face you every day, but your input will guide important, immediate and long-term global strategy. Great compensation and benefits, but again the work-life balance expectations are a bit onerous. Typical commitment is 1-2 years per role.

That is quite a pitch!
