Amazon EU Luxembourg supply chain / tech. position, low TC. Is FANG really worth it?

I cleared my interviews with Amazon a few days ago and received the following offer: TC: EUR 70 Stock: 30 5 YOE tech and supply chain + top grad school This is a supply chain planning position in Luxembourg requiring analytics, business acumen and programming. Love the job but I feel that it is a low offer; considering that I have options that pay 10% more in other European countries with a COL 30% cheaper than LUX. Is FANG really worth it? Any room for negotiation? Are there any promotions?

Never mentioned (New terminology for me coming from a traditional industry) Same TC, cheaper country

If you are confident that this is a 2-way door, take it for the exp. Else, not worth it, your hourly rate will be 50% of your current.

"In EU" I guess it is too hard to move to the US

I heard it is really expensive there, for the rest of Europe it’s not bad, but for Luxembourg IDK.

Keep in mind LUX is one of the most expensive places in EU, only Switzerland is more expensive I think.

Sure! That's an excellent question. Before I go into details, it is essential to clarify a) some market dynamics and b) current situation: A) Working in the States seems to be TC oriented. In Europe, it is practically impossible to find great offers, and my mindset goes towards a combination of TC + quality of life. B) I like to think that I am a strong candidate: 5 YoE, top school, patents, and other accomplishments. Taking A and B into consideration, analyzing AMZs offer: - Brand: ++ - Seniority: -- (down level, bar-raising) - WLB: -- - TC: == - City: -- (LUX vs. other capitals) Some people see it as a stepping stone. However, I believe it is essential to find a company to which you are significantly more valuable than the rest (there are a lot of extremely bright people there). That way, it's more accessible to own strategical projects instead of operational ones and, consequently, grow.
