I told my manager that I was leaving my team for a new opportunity earlier late last month and I even signed the offer earlier this month. Come Forte time I was pegged under needs improvement but was not told about being in dev list. Can the new manager still rescind the offer or am I good here? TC: 250k YOE:11
I'd email HR unless someone on here works for Amazon HR. From my non-HR layman's understanding, the offer is a contact and you're good to go. I've heard of managers doing shady shit like this to keep top performers from jumping ship, but I've never seen it personally. I have seen an engineer on a pip try to leave his current team but got blocked by the pip, he didn't get an offer. Again, I think since you already signed the offer for the new team you're good to go. Please update once you know for sure what's gonna happen.
AMZN is crazy opaque. Don't even know who my HR POC is.
Yup I have looked that up and for some insane reason all I see are "No contact found" error for Finance, HR assistant and HRBP. Very weird
Not all needs improvement means an automatic transfer to focus. You have to be put on focus. Did the new manager give you an offer before speaking to your existing manager? If yes, you are fine. If no, your new manager screwed up.
Yes new manager did speak to old manager and then offer was generated.
You are fine then
Just curious, when you sign a new offer with a team - is there a new comp structure attached?
If it’s a lateral transfer, no change in pay. Your base is reflected in the offer but not RSUs
i’m running into the same situation, i decided to move to another team and signed the offer. Then I found my forte is NV. And my skip manager changed my rating. is there anything I can do?
You can do nothing. LC and GTFO is what’s in your control. You should still be ok in new team but if your new manager is not understanding that this is more of politics and not about you, you’re in trouble.
I am in the same situation, is this rating normal since we are basically ditching the old team? And so that manager can leverage us to fill up the NI slots?

If your team does daily standups, your manager is a micromanager
You are good assuming official offer was generated. They are putting you in need improvements to meet their URA targets. This company is rotten to the core at leadership level.
