In terms of projects and future career marketability which office is better? im a young professional who ultimately wants to move to NYC so DC area is geographically closer but im not sure how much of a difference that makes. I have the option to take either office as an AWS ASSOCIATE solutions architect and i want to be able to position myself best for future career goals. Obviously if i were to take the herndon office id live in DC or Arlington (Im a city girl) and the ATX one id live in the city

For SAs, geo can be a determining factor for types of projects and industry focus and can be a non factor too. What really matter is the team and the type of SA you are. You could be traveling a lot seeing customers all over the place then you would learn from wider industries and variety of projects. That case where you base in doesn’t matter. But if you are an account SA you would be assigned to a fix set of accounts which limits your locality and would focus on local industry. Then you can compare whether you want more (but not limit to) government work in Herndon or whatever industry is prominent in Austin.
