I had a few friends who couldn't pass the hiring bar for tier1/tier2 companies but most of them eventually got an Amazon offer. Never interviewed with Amazon before. Just curious how is Amazon's hiring bar?
Ya’ll delusional if you think lower than average. Let’s be real here.
Hiring bar is the highest when it comes to BQ. Those LPs....since Amazon is expanding like crazy, they need tons of SWE, hard to have a high hiring bar if you need a lot of SWE.
Average of what? People here seem to be considering average of all 100 billion + companies. Google > Amazon > Oracle, hence average
I did onsite with some Here’s my ranking from hardest to easiest: Google > FB >= Amazon > Apple
Feels like it for me to
Sounds alright for me
For all the companies I interviewed with: Two Sigma > Google >= FB > Indeed >= Uber >> Apple == Amazon > Microsoft but this was a year ago when Uber was still hyped.
Not accurate. Amazon, Microsoft, Apple and maybe Uber are highly team-dependent if not new grad general hire
Last time I was looking for a job I interviewed with only Google and Amazon. Rejected by Google, hired by Amazon.
I feel like it's dependent on the level the role is. If L3-L5 probably industry avg, but if L6+ probably just as high as FG.
When I was interviewing for new grad jobs 4 years ago Amazon was the easiest, but also the most different. It was a 3 hour real coding project with a team of other interviewees. More focus on practical coding and almost none on algorithms. I did badly imo but still got an offer. Are they still doing that interview format or was it a failed experiment?
What is considered tier1?
Google / FB
