I received an email for AWS hiring event in VA. The recruiter said I passed the coding test before so it’s straight to onsite. I did interview with Amazon in different city two months ago and rejected. They told me I can reapply in 6 month. Why are they inviting me for th hiring event? What is the selection process for this kind of event? Has anyone attended one and got hired? What is it like? Also, how is Amazon in Herndon, VA?
The whole 6 months is a BS cop out for a recycle the recruiter doesnt want to work. Another recruiter most likely read the feedback and thinks you might be a fit for the other team. I went to an event where we rented out a brewery, got hammered, and hired 5 people. Gotta love HR, right?
People say it’s like cattle. What do you guys do there?
It depends. If it's a legitimate hiring event like a blitz then you're actually interviewing. Cattle? I guess but if you get an offer do you really care?
