Amazon Interview - Asked for 3 professional references...
Hi, I got a final virtual interview invite today along with the following asks - 1) 3 professional references 2) A writing sample 3) Salary Expectation Is this normal procedure? I did not expect the references. Also they said something about holding the interview date. Do that mean, I will only have an interview if they like the writing sample? #tech #amazon
Yes it is. They may reach out to Professional reference as last step of the process but they will ask you first. Writing sample is one of the data points that they would consider during the debrief.

Doesn’t make sense for a swe role
L7+ SDE role requires a writing sample as well. Not sure about L6.
Writing samples of what? Accomplishments?
I was given two topics to choose from. And they wanted 1-2 pages on that topic.
I got the same, except for the writing sample. My recruiter was OK with me providing the references closer to my interview date
