Amazon L4 offer confusion
Hi All, I recently got a offer with Amazon for L4 new grad. I have 3 years of work experience back in india as one of the Founding tech member from a start up. One of my friend got L5 with the same experience, but he gave interview for L5. I guess I was interviewed for L4, and they didnt gave me a System design round during the interview. I feel a little disappointed with this offer level, as I am very sure if I am given a chance to prove for L5 I can do it. Amazon is not ready to negotiate the offer. I also have upcoming interviews with Google and Facebook. I have offers with Goldman Sachs and Wayfair. I told the same to amazon, they seem to not care much. They responded saying “Look at our stock values for the past 5-10 years, it has a considerable growth, we hope this will help make a decision” Can someone suggest what to do in this situation? Wayfair - Numbers are not confirmed, need to speak this week Goldman - 122K base, 25K signon, undisclosed bonus TC: 171K
It's not worth downleveling oneself as it takes lot of effort to go to next level. I would say have them wait till your other interviews are done. If nothing else works out you can take this one.
Amazon will care once you get G or FB offer though
G and FB are very slow, this offer deadline will expire in two weeks.
Dont accept, since you feel you can do better. do well at FB or G. Best of luck OP

At Wayfair you'll have opportunity to make more of an impact, plus Wayfair stock has more room to grow IMO
Just turn down the Amazon offer
You’re in a tough spot. It’s not -bad- to come in as L4, but leveling up is pretty hard when you’re locked in. It’s definitely better to come in as L5. Amazon is invaluable on the resume, but knowing what I know and seeing what I’ve seen, I’d take one of the others in a heartbeat. This place kills you
Can I ask them to interview me again for L5 if its viable option ?
Sure ask them... but also if you did very well in interview and showed that you are an L5 level worthy, they may have bumped you up without you asking

US, Amazon offer is at Seattle, Wayfair at Boston, Goldman at NYC
Could you tell the L5 numbers of your friend and L4 of yours , this would help me out and I can share more on dm
