I recently interviewed for an L5 PM position at Amazon, the interview went well but I received a rejection two days later where the recruiter reached out saying “the hiring team decided to go in a different direction”. Though the recruiter asked me if I’m interested in applying for another position, she could help socialize my resume internally.
I’m looking for some guidance here that what could have gone wrong and what are my options now? Should I still continue applying or pause for a while? I’m currently in a contract role that end in 3 months and still on my STEM OPT.
Appreciate your time!!

What role is the recruiter offering you? This is a positive sign that they said no to PM but saw potential in another job role that you may just need to do a few extra interviews to get an offer for.
If you don’t have interest in the other role, ask when you can apply/interview for the PM role again. If you were close to passing, it’ll be 6months to 1 year
Point is, definitely ask your recruiter as many questions as you need. Even ask for a quick call to discuss if you want. Worst that would happen is they would tell you they can’t answer a specific question.
