Trying to get perspective on what’s it’s like to be A SDM at amazon ? I know it depends on team .. but ... What are your day to day challenges ? Heard most of the time your cracking the whip on ICs completing stories. What’s your average 1 out of 10 stress level like? What do you hate / love about your role?

[intern] Worst team at databricks or best team at ramp
Cons: - Ops is killing my team - I don’t see a path to L7 - Scope is more like a lead role Pros: - Amazon stock price - Cash signing bonus over 2 years
Jumping the ship in 3rd year?
OP. SDMs are the number one reason for stress in devs. SDMs in amazon are kings. They can hire or fire anyone. If you are incompetent then even better.
The irony is that SDMs in Amzn are also beggars. The number of LinkedIn messages from Amzn SDMs asking for SDEs is truly staggering.
What are the expectations of a level 6? Genuinely curious if I could cut it.
9/10, but enjoying it :) Love - to streamline processes and running a team like CEO. Hate - Dependency issues due to SOA.
