Amazon L6 TPM pay for first year

I joined Amazon 5 months ago as L6 TPM. I believe my TC 238k (160k base + joining bonus) is less than others at the same grade. Moreover there is no RSU allocation in the first year. Is it too early to ask for a pay hike?

You’re not underpaid.

Wtf. You know the offer. Your first two years are pretty much fixed. People lie about pay all the time. Just like everything else. Most people driving fancy cars pay a huge car payment. Just work and find out where you are in the band and do better then everyone else.

It seems inline to me as an L5 engineer No, you are not underpaid in Amazon The grass might be greener in other companies like fb

How many years of experience?

Amazon Anglosaks Mar 16, 2018

You got the highest possible base salary and $78k bonus per year. How much others make?

Your total comp target looks to be around $240k. If you didn’t think this was sufficient you shouldn’t have accepted the job. You will have a 5% vest of your starting grant. Depending on SPP for the next few years (stock was about 1000 when you started) you probably got a 150 share grant. The total grant has appreciated 60% already, but can always drop. In your third and fourth year if the stock was flat from here you’d be making $96k from stock, so $256k. In any event... same grade and role? The L6 band is not the same across roles.

That’s inline with the top L6 comp for a TPM. Your HM negotiated well.
