Hi - if any of you are Amazon L7 - PMT, could you share the comp range ? I’m determining whether it makes sense for me. mucho gracias!
Between 700k-800k
Not even every L8 makes that much
280k to 360k. If you come in as PMT-ES (AWS) it could be higher.
^true.
ES stands for external services. Just a way to distinguish the more technical PMs in AWS from rest of Amazon PM-Ts
360K sounds about right. IC
700+ should be doable.
I am a recent L7 PM-T. TC $350k after minor negotiation from initially offered $335k. I feel I could have negotiated another $25k easily and even more with a competing offer. Crossing $375k gets very hard. This is for Seattle. PMT in AWS get paid about 10% more than rest of Amazon. When you compare offers take it into consideration that you will be leaving behind about $25k worth of benefits and if you live east side then you will write off 2 hours of your life in commute so add another $25k for it. So use the normalizer of $50k when you compare your msft TC with Amazon TC.
Beware the common downlevel after interviewing. You may apply for L7 but get L6 more often than not.

Do you really think Amazon is that bad
If you’re not a partner (or above) at msft, Amazon L7 comp will make sense. It’s open the question if the Amazon intensity will make sense as compared to the relatively chiller environment at msft.
Intensity will be great. I am trying to get an idea about the comp.
