Amazon-Level 5 Oracle Application Developer.
I am 11 yrs experienced Oracle TechnoFunctional associate. Attributing to interview feedback they are offering Level5 SDE II position. My role is Oracle Applications technical resource, at Seattle FinTech Group. Could you guys please tell me if the below salary offer is good or not. Also what should be the ideal salary for this role and position? Base : $135000 Equity:$ 30000 Signing Bonus: $ 25000
what do u mean equity 30k? 30k over 4 years? 1 year? vesting schedule?
Oracle devs are fake sdes, the offer is lower than the bottom 1% in comparison with other L5 Sdes. So its kinda hard to say if thats a good offer or not, maybe you can eventually grow out of oracle, do massive amt of leetcoding and learn new techs, your title at amazon can help you land a real sde job internally or outside, so as long as the offer is fair market value when compared to other oracle devs with similar capabilities as yours, I’d say go for it.
True, oracle apps is more on IT support and back office application side. Moreover, traditional ERP developers are sort of cobol programmers back in 90s
Ok.. I understand this role is not perceived as equivalent to rest of SDE roles. Indeed we deal with Oracle, Java, SOAP & REST protocols and SoA architecturjng etc. So would that not be very unfair calling them as old as COBOL and not even equal to lowest 1% salary category of SDE level 5? However, existing employees on these roles, can you shed some light on the numbers?
The lowest L5 Sde i’ve come across was at 170, but I dont know too much about TC distribution of Oracle devs
For L5 what could be minimum Equity Amazon offers?

Can you shed light on the interview process . How many rounds. What to expect in each round. Will there be any functional and technical (rice, interfaces ) related questions . Please help . Also I heard this role is paid less than SDE . What TC you ended up ?

Also this is for Oracle Application developer. Does that role plays a factor in getting appropriate numbers?
