Just got news after an interview on Friday I am being extended an offer for a L6 Sr. Program Manager role. The recruiter mentioned she would need my avaliability so she could set up calls with each hiring manager offering and I could choose the role/team I would like to join. Is it standard to let you choose what team you want work on?
TC and location?
They haven’t presented numbers yet, they will once I decide on team/role I want. It will be a Seattle location with full relo!
Me too!
im trying to get in with amazon at a smaller facility in DE, can't get a hold of anyone for the life of me. any leads to recuriters?
I don’t have my recruiters direct number, not on their signature. I applied through the website and just got lucky on them reaching out.
They gave me two choices about a year ago
Congratulations, OP! Would you mind sharing your yoe, what the interview process was like (how many rounds, etc..) & how you prepared? Thanks!
YOE: 9 years 1. Applied Online 2. Recruiter reached out via email and set up a phone screen 3. Passed phone screen and got set up with a peer phone interview 4. Passed and got onsite a scheduled with 5 - 45 min interviews 5. Studied the LP’s and ensured I practiced responding in STAR format. When in the interview I had about 8-10 examples written down with the Situation, Action/Tasks, Results with metrics written down. These weren’t detailed but high level and I could speak to. I also looked at the LinkedIn profile of each interviewer and had an example they could relate to based upon my interviewers past or current experience. Made sure to state “I” statements to show ownership and always state I took calculated risks and made decisions based upon data. 6. 1 day turn around on response I got the job and now I await getting calls scheduled so I can pick my team! Let me know if this helps!
Great, thank you for the reply with details, that helps! I had a few other qs, mind if I DM?
Lucky you presidio I had my manager level interview last Wednesday did well still awaiting results. Congrats again.
Not to scare you but I also got mine the day right after. They have a 2-5 day SLA so if it’s been a week then it’s likely dead, but ping your recruiter to find out. They once left me hanging for roughly a week because the recruiter didn’t get the usual email notification after the screen.
FWIW, mine was the next day, too. But I've read recruiters have 5 business days to get back to you.
Hei OP congrats. Was it for Technical or non-technical PM
I had a similar experience, except I interviewed for a L6 Senior Technical Program Manager and was extended an offer for an L6 Sr. Program Manager role. I had the choice of different groups and even different locations.
Update: I have 2 offers so far that I am picking between. 1. Sr. Program Manager - Non-Technical, leading a configuration team. I applied to this one 2. Sr. Product Manager, Technical - Which I did not apply for and will be speaking to the hiring manager tomorrow. (Mind Blown) Any ideas the difference in TC for the Sr. Product Manager role?
Well, for what it’s worth I wasn’t offered the option to choose teams. So it’s either not standard, or I got funneled down a weird part of the recruiting pipeline.
