What happens when most of your team is Indian?
I saw a role for Amazon Music as a Program Manager based in Culver City and was curuous if anyone had any insight to the culture, management and overall team ? Any other info on wlb, turnover or comp would be appreciated as well! Thx! #amazon #amazonmusic #programmanager
Teams are siloed, so culture, experience, WLB all vary depending on where you sit. Senior leadership is generally good and well respected. That said, the marketing org was going through heavy turnover even before the pandemic, mostly because of the style of the senior leader and her directs. The business is well funded within the company and is doing better, subscriber-wise, than most assume. If the program manager role is on the Artist/Label Services team, you’ll get to do cool stuff and work with good people. Hit and miss otherwise, but more hit than miss.
If you don't like it, you can always move after a month. Take it if you get it and don't have a better option in hand
Awful. Don’t go in there
Can you elaborate?
I actually know the hiring manager! Worked with him in previous company. One of the best leaders I’ve ever worked with. If nothing else, the experience of working end learning from him would be worth taking the job!
He is good at salea but not at anything else. Fluff all the way
Sounds like he got the job you wanted 🤥🤫
They have music in the toilets.
Music in the toilets was what sold me too.
From what I understand, it’s very toxic, similar to Prime Video.
Toxic in what way?
Well, it's a job at Amazon, for starters. 🙄
Is this a new project in music? If yes, then run !!
Are “new project” roles a shit show? I’ve been seeing multiple roles labeled within the Amazon Music department.
Great culture in Amazon music. Most of the leadership has been around for a while. Low attrition and great work life balance. I know surprising for Amazon but music is the new kid in the company and attracting top talent.
The culture is good in music but WLB can get pretty bad in Q4 every year. It’s team dependent but if you are on a Dream goal it’s going to be a grind.
do you work under that team? can I dm you ?
Amazon is great for customers not for employees
What's Amazon Music?
lol. Only reason I know it exists is because Google axed Play Music. So I tried Amazon music. It didn't have a lot music I wanted, and annoyingly enough to get more songs you need to pay more (than just having prime). If Amazon included full music streaming with a prime membership that'd be way better
