What does amazon have going on in Nashville? They said its Last Mile. Just curious if anyone has any insight. I did not know that they had a presence there.
There are multiple teams out there already working on some of the most challenging problems in scaling logistics.
Also heard they are going to focus last mile/transportation stuff in that site. Hey started hiring a bulk in that location starting sometime this year.
Operations excellence team. Or something
Graduated from Vanderbilt, would be good for Vandy and other universities nearby.

Amazon is expanding their Center of Excellence HQ there. 5k Employees to be hired....< From press release >
WTF is Amazonโs โCenter of Excellenceโ?
SDEs are very much going to be located there https://www.amazon.jobs/en/landing_pages/careerday
Think of it as HQ2 for OPS. Get as many bodies out of Seattle as possible...
Is Amazon actually trying to reduce headcount in Seattle? I thought the main takeaway from the HQ2 search was, โwe actually have it pretty good here.โ
AWS has marching orders to move people out of the city. City has too much power over the company.
Permanent campus is under construction at Nashville Yards site. Currently located in Suntrust building on Commerce street. Location will be almost exclusively teams in the Operations org, including Last Mile, AFT, GFS, AmDT, OCX, etc. Hiring 5k in the site by 2024. Dozens of SDE and SDM openings, yet to see many science or product openings, yet.
