Got a SDE1 offer in Seattle but I really need to be in Irvine or Southern California for family reasons.. any advice on what I should do? I hear location is non-negotiable. Are there any amazonians at Irvine who could give me some insight on if I could transfer there? TC: The offer is for 149k
My recruiter said if I make it and the off comes, I can ask to work in a different location "but you didn't hear this from me"... So it sounds like a secret that you can do but you'll have to push for it and some will probably tell you no even though that's not the case
My recruiter said something similar..she said location can’t be discussed until after an offer is extended. But now the offer is nonnegotiable? So I’m confused
Hm try telling her that she said location would be discussed after offer so you're confused and would like clarification Don't assume you are getting screwed just be cordial and say you are having trouble understanding what your options are
I would ask the recruiter, but you generally need to apply to a specific position in Irvine. If you're a new grad, you may have leeway on picking a location limited by availability because sometimes interview is not team specific for new grads. But often times, especially for experienced hires, you are interviewing for a particular position with a specific hiring manager.
Talk to your recruiter I suppose? But if it’s non negotiable, your hands are tied man sorry.
Why is it non negotiable ? Why is Amazon blind to its future employees ?
