Amazon Offer Review

New grad SDE Base: 112k Sign on: 26k + 22k Stock: 80k 5/15/20/20 It says on the letter that it is "non negotiable" but this seems a bit low from what I've seen on levels.fyi. Should I ask for more?

I got a reply from recruitment team that they will not negotiate even if there is another offer on table, which I had. I think they have interviewed a large pool of candidates this time, so there are a lot of people to take up the offer anyways without negotiations.

No, this is a standard new grad sde offer.

I think that's ballpark new grad. SDE 1 can have 1-2 years of experience so the data on levels isn't just new grads. Amazon scales it salary so that if you're close to the next SDE rank in compensation then you're close to promotion. So you should expect a purely new grad with no prior experience to be further away from the top of the SDE 1 band and numbers lower than the average report on levels. Iirc, a few years ago new grad base was usually 108 and close to standardized.

They might negotiate. Doesn’t hurt to ask. A recruiter I know there told me they’ll only counter once though.

theres no room for negotiation, all location based.

If it says “no negotiation” it means “no negotiation.” 2 recruiters have told me this. Asking will only make you look bad in that situation.
