Amazon Office Setup

Dec 7, 2019 8 Comments

What level at AWS gets you a private office and support from a personal assistant?

What is the company travel policy for domestic and international? Always ticketed in economy, or business class for longer than a certain duration, at a certain career level?

I’m starting to negotiate an L8 offer with AWS but theres more to a good deal than salary and equity. Executive recruiting havent volunteered any of this information and if the company is as frugal as is often reported, I’m worried asking could be perceived as a problematic culture question.

Your own office for sure, probably an EA, although maybe a shared one, economy class for everyone

Do you think it’d be negotiable with my L10 to bring my current EA along? I’ve had the same one for a long time, she’s excellent.

Thanks for the clarity on travel policy, that’s fine, will just upgrade myself.

Can’t hurt to ask about your current EA. Amazon’s big on referrals.

You have to negotiate business class! Omg!
Even CK has a policy to fly business class for flights > 8 hours irrespective of the level.
This is not frugal, this is cheap AF!

Oracle is also Economy. If you’re a VP and it’s over 7 hours then you can fly Business.
