One of my friends got offer from A9. Wanna head to A9 as well. I wonder whether there exists pip as well at A9. And does every team has “pip norm” every year? Or it depends on teams? What about Amazon outside the USA?
Yep. One person has to be asked to leave in a team with a size of ~10.
Untrue. It's 1 in 20 asked to leave and it's only applicable to managers who have at least 50 employees (so directors and above). 1 in 10 will go on a coaching plan but half of them will improve and stay at Amazon.
A9 is fully part of Amazon now.
Amazon is pretty stressful. Even after 2 years there isn't a sense of feeling settled and relaxed
It's always Day 1 😂
Day 1 is suppose to be for good reasons and growth not for wrong reasons
I wouldnt reccomend it. It's not just me either.the veterans on my team are still pulling long hours with heavy ops load/deadlines, along with managers who cant chill the fuck out and always cover their own asses, leaving us IC overworked and stressed out. It should not be this bad. Go for Google if you can.
Location and which org/team? Feel free to DM
Don't come to Amazon if you expect to be in the bottom 10%
What kind of advice is this. You shouldn’t go anywhere if you expect to be in the bottom 10%...
I work for Rakuten, the Japanese equivalent of Amazon, and I'm in the bottom 10%. Our culture is heavily influenced by Amazon's but employment laws prevent easy firing, so your boss has to find work you're capable of doing rather than dumping you.
