I am a new new hire in tech that got put on PIP. I see it as a result of limited experience and a poor fit with the team. My team is not diverse (i was one of few female employes in my position there) - not sure if that requires different behavior patterns. What are advantages of taking on the improve plan which does not seem to be attainable? Any thoughts on which could be better for a new hire going forward? #pip

If you're on a PIP now is the time to find a plan B. Still try to improve, any feedback is valuable. But at the end of your PIP you should have offers in hand.

It is more of a diversity thing - only older males who has way more corporate experience. I am afraid i am looked down upon for not being pushy or treated as not serious. Not sure about the stack - the manager never mentioned this and said it is not how it is done in Amazon.
1st thing to do is clear out of your managers expectations with you . Keep updating your team on your work, if you do your work and the team doesn’t take you seriously it’s a different issue all together you need to move to a different team, not sure how it works with pip at amazon though. You cannot live in a constant fear in this team. No one deserves it. What is your YOE? With experience you will be able to handle this better.

All she did was state her gender. She never blamed the PIP on her gender.
Don't state your gender, it's irrelevant. She should also state her race, her manager's gender and race. It's all irrelevant.
