I have an Amazon phone screen later this week. Do I need to know the leadership principles? I've just been grinding leetcode bc I also have Google, Facebook and Microsoft interviews to study for 😅
Make sure to have 2-3 stories for each principle, sometimes they ask like - do you have any other example.
FWIW, I didn’t have this come up at all in my phone screen. It was mostly coding and then discussing my background broadly. Leadership principles were very important for onsite though.
The discussing your background part is tied to leadership principles
Hell yes and your answers should demonstrate those LPs. I have seen highly technical folks falling flat as they missed taking a look at the LPs (the DNA of Amazon)
Thanks everyone. I thought it was just on site so I was going to focus on LC for now. Should I memorize them or just bring up examples when they mention each one?
You’ll be on the phone so just print them out or have them up on your laptop so you can easily reference them. They won’t expect you to have them memorized. It’s not a quiz...they just want to know you looked and read them.
Ohh that makes more sense, thank you!!
Just bring up examples after you gauge which LP is the question based on.
Yes
Not so much for phone screens actually. Definitely for the on-site
Just as important as leetcode
Thanks for this wonderful tip, I have my phone screen coming up in 2days. So of the overall 100% what is the minimum percentage required to qualify for on-site?
