Gave an Amazon interview two weeks back, recruiter says the team who interviewed me wasn't a great match, which is fine. It's been 10 days since the recruiter is on a hunt for a "new" team, and is not able to find any. Are there really not that many openings? 3 yoe, had interviewed for Lab126
What role
Don’t worry , if you are good enough they’ll go to any extend to find u a team, just remain supportive to the recruiter and keep searching for some team yourself too . I have a first hand experience of this .
Thanks! I'll keep in touch with the recruiter.
Nothing to worry. Same thing happened with me last week but got an offer from a team in 4-5 days. Keep patience it'll come soon
I received an offer at amazon. It took 1 month for my recruiter to find a team. Don’t worry, once you are in the candidate pipeline who passed the onsite interviews, it’s just a manner of time to find a team.
Oh okay sounds good. Was this in Bay area?

Can’t speak specifically to Amazon but have done this a lot at other companies. A candidate is borderline, so we try to place them with another team, but it’s difficult. Other teams are skeptical, reluctant to pick up the leftovers. It results in a no hire more than half the time.
Makes sense, I half expected it to be a reject.
