Compensation is almost the same, but need to know what would be a good choice considering work, learning and growth opportunities? Current Yoe : 4 yrs Current Tc : 120
Walmart compensation is normally lower than Amazon for similar level. If you have similar compensation from both, it could mean you will be managing more in Walmart.
Probably Amazon, for the work and brand on your resume.
Amazon, unless Walmart is in the Bay Area.
Could you tell us the comp/location for each would help a lot in deciding
Amazon! No doubts about it.
Walmart se3 will be 140-150k base. 30k-50k sign on. 20 percent guaranteed bonus unless you screw up badly (can go to 30-40 percent, unlikely in the first year). 20-30k stocks each year vesting over 4 year years. That was my offer at 1 yoe at Sunnyvale office.
Why new grad level at Amazon with 4 YOE?
Amazon always downlevels. That's why I didn't take their offer at 1yoe + MS.
I thought Google was the big down-leveler. OP, think about asking Amazon for another interview to uplevel to SDE2. As is, absolutely take a lvl3 position over a new grad position. Will be way better career wise, even if tc isn't that different now.
But at 4yoe you most def would want sde2. At op what are your offers?
Amazon
Tbh id pick Amazon. That being said, some of my coworkers are from Amazon and they hated it. They tell me Walmart is much better
