Amazon SDE 2 Compensation
I’ve been at Amazon for almost 8 years. I’m curious what the compensation is for an SDE 2 at Amazon. This year is miserable as far as total comp. I’m not even going to make $200k in total. I told my manager that my compensation is far lower than a new hire (SDE 1) and that I’m thinking of leaving. What should be my strategy? Preparing for interviews seems to be painful and I don’t think I’m prepared for it. Base Sal: 145k Stocks : 35 for the entire year Edit: SDE 2 at Amazon, what’s your total comp? 8 yrs at amazon!! How is your salary so low ? Didn’t you get stock refreshers every year? You should def. raise this with your manager.
Sounds like you don’t have an option but leaving since you already told your manager about your willingness to leave. Start preparing now. Otherwise you will be without a job in a few months.

Was recently offered ~290k in CA for sde2 with 11yoe.
8 years at Amazon and you only have 35 stocks to vest this year. No way. Can you give a breakdown of stocks previous year too? Btw, 90%+ SDE I don’t make 180k+
50k worth of stocks vesting over 4 year period was offered when I joined
What’s your level and total comp?
I make the same as you and I have 7 years experience. I went to one of the best school in us. I live pay check to pay check.
You make 200k and live paycheck to paycheck? That's on you.
HAHAHAHAHAHA OH MY GOD THE THINGS YOU READ ON BLIND!!! Top 5% income nationally, and live pay check to pay check. You may want to sell your Tesla and downsize to a one bedroom apartment... and even there how can you spend 180k a year!?
