Currently working at Intuit India, been here for more than 7 years (Total Exp - 15 years). Due to lack of career progression have been contemplating to move out and explore other opportunities. Have interviewed at Amazon for SDE 3, offer is being negotiated now. Feedback from Amazon has been that based on my profile and interviews I’ll be matched with a team where the SDE 3 role is scoped at a principal level, what does this mean? Have interviews coming up for Microsoft (Principal Engineer) and LinkedIn (Staff Software Engineer). Wanted to understand what the community here thinks, about whether I should move. And which company would be better. How much I can expect from each? My preference is Amazon > Microsoft > LinkedIn, purely based on learning opportunities. Annual TC (in INR): 78 Lakhs 48 (Base) 10 (Bonus) 20 (Stocks) #amazon #intuit #linkedin #microsoft
Unlikely you will receive a principal level offer with this TC in Microsoft. This is more like an entry level L64 TC in India or maybe even L63. Principal start with L65. Guess Intuit didn't pay you competitive salary for a 15 years of experience guy.
Seems like very good numbers for 10+ Exp to me. What would you say is the decent range for someone with 15 YoE?
I am not a principal in Microsoft, but for anyone getting hired at Principal level in IDC Base would be more than 65, stocks would be around 30 lakhs per year and bonus would be around 12-20 lakhs. That would be 1cr plus easily.
Amazon. Is that even a comparison?
I have been at Amazon and Intuit. Accept the Amazon offer, its a much better position for your profile going forward. If you get a better deal with Microsoft or linkedin in terms of money, you may want to accept that based on work life balance but otherwise between amazon and Intuit, amazon is a clear choice
Lol u have 15yoe and can't smell bullshit ?
Finally what did u get and where did u join?
Whats ur current level at intuit ?
SDE 3 role is scoped at a principal level —> fishy. Don’t believe them. It is SDE3.
Exactly, this is a business trick to get you on.. once you are in, there won’t be any Principal scope and path for you.
