Just received offer the day after my interview. SDE-II on AWS team in Seattle 142k base 60k/45k sign on for 1st/2nd years 90 RSUs with standard vesting, so 145k current value. So $209k TC first year. 3yrs exp. I expect other offers, but Amazon was first to get back. (One interview still not until next week.) What has the most room for improvement: base/bonus/RSUs?
Thats very high for 3 years of experience.
Interviews went about as well as I could have expected. Bar raiser seemed particularly impressed. HM went 1hr longer than scheduled with her mostly trying to sell me on the job at the end.
Cool. What company you coming from?
Vrey good offer
Whichever part you move, you’re ultimately just moving up the TC and in subsequent years they’ll + or - additional grants to keep you in range. But your TC isn’t going to change much in the first two years (aside from stock projected growth) so personally I’d hit for as high of a base as you can now and plan on it moving <2% a year after that
I think your rsu is low. Should be 300k in rsu
Even for Amazon? G/FB/unicorns seem to offer that at this level, but I haven't seen that high from Amazon before. Except for people who were granted offers several years ago and now the stock has 3-4x'ed.
U must not be very good
Lmao, I do actually have professional Scala exp, not sure why you mention it specifically. I've just not seen particularly high RSU grants from Amazon for SDE-II versus higher levels.
They gave same offer to me in Sunnyvale only diff is base 20k more. And I said no. I have 10 years exp
Ask for at least 125 RSUs if you did your interviews well
I was offered 147/90/60+45 in Seattle (Alexa Smart Home). Told them that's lower than what I have now. They did not bulgr.
You just have to walk out of the deal then.
I told them that I'd like to broaden my responsibilities, not to downshift from MS Senior to Amazon's SDE2. I also found a more senior open position at a more aligned Amazon team. The recruiter went silent.
Your TC seems good overall. It's on the higher end.
RSU
That would be my thought too, especially as it wouldn't really be realized until after 2.5 yrs which is better for Amazon than for me. What the RSU range for L5?
Search on Blind to see latest L5 offers.. but it won't change significantly as it's a good offer based on your YOE.
