Does anyone else has experience with Amz recruiter trying to lowball you on an offer.. I am a senior Manager at Oracle and take home about 200k.. they try to hire me every few years at the senior product manager role.. which is ok as I am not tied to management positions but they offer 160k base salary with addition 40-50 k in equity!! Seems really crappy!!
How much sign-on bonus are you getting? Amazon has a wierd stock vesting schedule with only 5% vesting in the first year.
Unless you’re in SF or NYC, then $160k is the max for base. But between sign on bonus (years 1-2 only) and RSUs, your total comp should easily exceed $200k and can get up to $250k as an L6 if they really want to hire you.

AMZN has market base and max for each city they hire in. If you are in CA, then by law they have to tell you the range. If you are in Seattle, I think the current market max is $175k, or something like that. They really push ownership, so the base will not match Oracle. But, the upside on grants won't match either. YMMV. If you're awesome, go to AMZN and make a shit-ton of equity.
