TC dropping from 270K to 202K since i am completing 4 years soon. Do managers adjust base and RSU to compensate for the drop? or is it just normal for anyone finishing up 4 years at Amazon
Your answer lies in the first word of the title
Isn't base capped at 160k? If so the only other way for them to bump your TC is via stock
My current base is 138k
I know a few ex-Amazon engineers, and they all either quit after 6 months or at the 4 years mark, none I know has gone oast 4 years. If you haven't been getting yearly RSUs then in best case scenario it would still take you 4 more years if they were to offer more RSUs.
I am also hearing that comp tool recommends what the %raise should be and manager hardly has any say on it.
In the system your comp is entered as a number which they will make whole through a combo of base and rsu.. my friends who are there basically told me they will just continue giving you the same rsu vest every six months as you are receiving now, for some it doesn’t make sense to stay
