Amazon TPM to SDM comp change
Going through this transition process now. Whats the typical comp change from TPM to SDM for an L6 level? Current TC : $290k
How long have you been a tpm there before they allowed you to make the switch?
I reached out internally to another team and got the offer. Not the same team. Been here only 2 months.

Wow I didn't even know that was a thing so quick. I would have expected half a year to a year minimum.

Like I said earlier, this TPM comp is very uncommon. Don’t be surprised if you don’t get a comp bump.
Most likely you will not see any immediate bump as this is already within-band for L6 SDM (in Seattle at least). Going forward it all depends on how much your boss wants to reward you relative to your peers (there’s an annual comp budget for each team).
The L6 SDM band is probably around 275-450 (similar to Sr SDE)
