Spend extra time interviewing with the team members and the hiring manager, asking them about the team. * How many high severity issues normally crop up? * If there is an on-call rotation, how is it handled? How many times was the on-call called in within the last few weeks or months? * How many L5s and L6s are on the team? * How long have others been on the team? Red flag if everyone is newer or evidence that anyone who is capable of transferring does so. * How long has the manager been with the team? * What are the manager's processes and thoughts on promotions? Will they actively help you?
