They have always claimed they would do this but I would wager jeff will say we are part of a family and we rise and fall together so get back to work.
They aren't going to risk an outflux of solid engineers over peanuts. Amazon knows it's always been able to bank good engineers on its stock price. They'll end up with a staff of low output engineers.
They already tricked thousands of engineers to work for low comp, back weighted vesting, and no perks...
