Amazon just announced that it's adopting similar measures as Apple, 3 days at the office 2 days at home with 4 weeks a year away completely, and the possibility to go fully remote. I think this is a great balance, thoughts? #hybrid #returntooffice Edit: sorry for the typos, that's how all my wikis look like
I feel like it’s a good balance, although some might not like it due to having to remain in Seattle (or other high COL areas), when fully remote jobs would allow one to relocate to a city of their choice.
Wait? Isn’t this just copying what Google did?
Yeah, pretty sure they felt pressured by what Google and Apple did
Is the news out in public domain or only internal so far?
I've only seen it in inside, but usually that means it's out there now
Is it posted on amazon inside page ?
VP exception still for remote work from another city. They should just let managers or directors decide what works for their org.
Same as google amd Apple right? No big difference
What time does it start?
First week of September
So until September we can chose to WFH all days a week ?
Is this location specific?
Amazon is really just trying to keep up with whatever google and Microsoft do, so they don’t lose on talent. It has definitively seem that way throughout 2021 announcements around working from home. They doubled down on commercial real state investments in 2020 when everyone else was pausing.
