So do I pick Kaiser Permanente or In Network Premera Blue Cross. I want low deductible and out of pocket maximum. So Kaiser is best option right? But I'm confused as why Kaiser is cheaper than Premera Blue Cross? Shouldn't Kaiser be more expensive? Help me out here. Thanks.
I like Kaiser, but a lot of people (like my wife) hate it. Kaiser is often accused of "rationing care," and only doing the minimum to ensure that you don't die.
I prefer premera.
Had premera HSA for many years now, they've never done me wrong, and I've asked a LOT of them.
Premera HSA is the best plan (the one most like pre-Obamacare plans). I don’t know about “Premera In Network”, but anything that requires you to see a certain limited set of healthcare providers usually sucks.
Kasier is cheaper because it's an HMO and a integrated provider. If your generally healthy you won't run into issues. But your trapped into the Kasier system and while not impossible to see someone for a second opion it's not easy. I use PPO instead because I want to be able to see any doctor I want. I know people that have had issues with Kaiser.
Kaiser is the best . The reason why it’s cheaper is because it is both service and insurance provider..Kaiser is the best thing happened with American health insurance in past decade I love their overall idea of preventive care
Thank you for that insight! This will be helpful as I make my decision.
