Do Amazon managers really hire someone so they can PIP them during stack ranking? Would they really drag someone halfway across the country to do that? I just felt like my interview was insanely easy. Easier than my last onsite at Amazon which I failed. I think last time I just didn't write an optimal solution. I felt like my interviews at other smaller non fang and start up companies was harder than the Amazon one. It's making me nervous. Edit: I am joining as a SDE2
I cannot verify this but I have definitely heard this too.
Was this for Seattle, OP?
Yes.
I am also in the same boat. Will be joining as SDE2 and interview seemed quite easy comparatively.
OK. The problem I face is that I have definitely grown better as an engineer the last 2 years since my last onsite, but I can definitely say that almost all my coding exercise was insanely easy. I've done harder problems to get into smaller no name start ups. I actually was surprised with the offer.
