Need to make insurance decision. Total family of 4 with younger kids. Amazon HSA (premera blue cross): 309 usd/month with 4.5K deductible. $1500 paid by Amazon in HSA account. So comes to $2300/yr (net) Spouse's insurance (cigna) : 125 usd/month for all with 4K deductible. No HSA paid to account, but it's a OAP HSA plan. Comes to $1500/yr. Similar for dental and vision. We dont go often to doctors. Maybe once a year or so for each of us. I have $4K in my previous HSA account, which I am assuming I can use. Cigna (cheaper) insurance doesnt negotiate much on doctor Bills, so higher bills, and based on past info, premera does well there. Any suggestions/point of views on which insurance to go. AMAZON folks if u prefer any of other plans, let me know too. I never had to pay for insurance premiums in the past, so this is tricky.
If you don't use it much get the HSA and pay everything out of pocket to get to tax benefit and match. Premera vs Aetna is a wash. Kaiser is interesting if you have a kid who might need frequent doctor visits and such.
