Amazon l6 sdm offer

I've an Amazon l6 sdm offer in Seattle, with TCO $340K ( 155 base, 165 sign on , $20k stock). I'm making similar money in midwest where cost of living is much cheaper and I'm a Sr director. does the Amazon offer have very high upside that moving is worth it ?

Base can be 160. What is $20k stock ? Is it quantity (not possible ) or value (too low)?

Elekta Snower OP Jul 31, 2019

Value...that's the first year stock...5% s stock in first year..

Overall I got 215 stocks...but that takes a while to make it into my account...

Its standard cliff 5/15/40/40. Ask for 240 stocks maybe more

I tried that...didn't go anywhere

Have lot of buddies at Amazon after the first 2 yrs it gets harder...surprised the stock amount but you are getting a good sign on...salary is not that diff between the two on avg

What gets harder after 2 yrs ?

His or her stock goes up to 160k on the third year. It’s a good deal.

Can you write your TC for each of the first 4?years. I think it will drop quite abruptly after your sign on bonus... 340 then 215 then 315 then 315? Is there a sign on bonus for the second year? I would much rather live in Seattle then the Midwest. The Midwest is strictly a fly-over zone. You also have no state tax, so you’ll rather come out even in the end.

CoL is much lower in Midwest and everything (bills, food, insurance, sales tax etc.) Is cheaper in mid west. I won't move for the money

I'm in the midwest and i won't move for that TC to Seattle..

low, shoot for 400k tc. To answer your question more directly, there is not much upside to your compensation unless your promoted. Even when you are first promoted, your comp will be around 420k and you can only realize that 2 years after your promo. Long term, if you become a top tier (top 20%) senior manager (L7), you can make close to 700k

Getting to L-7 will be an uphill task You can further negotiate on signon bonus sticks now
