Received an offer from Amazon for Ops tech. Offer Level: 5, Program Manager II, Nashville Base: 95K, SB1: 18K, SB2: 16K, 22 RSUs Surprisingly my current pay is higher than this in Midwest (TC: 145K).(I am currently working and that's the only thing with which I can negotiate, no other offers) YOE: 10 Years I have below questions 1. Can someone negotiate the Level from 5 to 6? Has anyone done it successfully? 2. If I go for level 5, what is the range when it will max(to ensure I keep my negotiation below the max) 3. If I go for level 6, what is the starting range? 4. Do I share my current salary for negotiations? what if Amazon just matches and don't exceed? 5. How many times can I go back and forth with the offer, safely? #amazon
With 10 yoe - Don’t accept L5 PM, most PMs are L6s in AMZN.
Noted, and highlighted, HR is discussing this with the HM and will keep me posted. Any idea what would be the range for L6 PM in nashville?
L6 should be starting with 180k+, experienced hire can be 350+, BUT look around how much other companies are paying for 10 yoe. Always assume they’d low ball you again given they low balled you so much initially
This is really low offer. Say 150k or ask them to fuck off.
Yep said it in a polite way, awaiting their response now.
Update?
I negotiated for level 6, went thru 2 more interviews which was hassle but well worth it, awaiting offer now
How did offer turn out?
?
Did you take up the offer
1. No, you can’t get level 6. The team and BR have already decided that you are L5. 2. Max for L5 probably won’t even get you much higher than your current TC 3. N/A 4. It’s worth a shot. 5. Until they say they’re not going any higher. Very rarely will they pull the offer. Just don’t be an ass
