What are the manager and Snr manager levels in Amazon? And what are the comp ranges for those?
L5 is usually an SDE II or similar moving into management. Sometimes hired from externally as a downleveled L6. L6 may or may not manage other managers, not required.
Why no L9?
Someday they may add junior VP or something to bridge director and VP because it can be a large gap. May also simply relevel completely someday.
What does a L7 make?

Have no clue on comp bands, but: L4 - Never seen it, entry level L5 - Manages entry and mid level engineers L6 - Manages other managers, entry level - sr. Engineers L7 - Sr. Manager, manages managers, occasionally senior engineers, very occasionally PEs L8 - Director, manages managers and sr managers, PEs, occasionally Sr PEs L10 (there is no 9) - VP, runs large orgs or business unit, manages directors, PEs, Sr. PEs. Rarely tech-only, but it happens L11 - Sr VP or CEO, they run large business units. L12 - Jeff
