Hello blind,
I am currently an L4 at AWS in Seattle and I joined 2 months back. My last attempt for H1b is next year and I do not have high hopes. STEM OPT is expiring December 2022. I did my bachelors here so my chances of getting H1b are even lower. I am sick of the immigration process here and do not feel free and it is affecting my happiness. It seems like Amazon will only do transfers for L5 and above.
What should I do?
Should I hire a lawyer or apply on my own? I'm afraid of talking to my manager since I joined so recently. I am ok with a pay cut. I will work hard and make up the money with side work but I want freedom.

So stay with Amazon until you get a year. In the meantime familiarize yourself with the express entry program, get an English or French test done, get your diploma assessed by Wes, get your express entry profile set up. As soon as you pass the 1y mark with Amazon, open a tt to get an employment letter following the duties and tasks of the NOC 2173. Then you should get the PR if you score enough on language test.
This should Allow you to apply for PR in July 2022. And have a door open in case you get fired or don't get promoted.
Universities will always take money for masters and since I only have a bachelors it’s the not the worst case scenario.
I think I will ask my manager for an offer and then apply. Keep that going while I try my luck in last H1B attempt.
Not discouraging, just giving heads up.
