Amazon new grad waitlist

I had Amazon interview on 18 Feb for new grad 2020. One day after that I got auto generated type of reply saying I was put on waitlist. Mailed recruiter asking for details but no reply yet. I see lot people are put on waitlist. Does anyone know if it always convert to offer? Also, any idea of expected timelines would be helpful.. thanks in advance
