I can not speak to the Tokyo office specifically, this has just been the experience of myself, and several other individuals I know, and have seen on here. I hope your experience is different, but from what I have seen it seems great at first and then slowly sucks out your soul after that. Best of luck to you.
If you're looking for a competing offer, I'm hiring managers for indeed Tokyo. We hire regularly from Amazon/AWS and people are immeasurably happier here and just as well, if not better, paid.
