Amazon offer TC question
I saw people saying something like an offer for L5 SDE at Amazon can reach a TC of 250K. But is this 250K just for year 1 (including sign-on) or (base*4 + 1st sign-on + 2nd sign-on + #RSU * current price)/4? I was under the impression that the stock vesting schedule is a bit weird, so was curious how the TC is calculated... Thanks yoe: 0 tc: grad student stipend...
To calculate amazon TC set up a spreadsheet. Y1 = base + Y1 sign on + RSU Value * 0.05 Y2 = base + Y2 sign on + RSU value * 0.15 Y3/Y4 = base + RSU value * 0.4

Thank you very much. I guess what i am confused is since the numbers for Y1 and Y3 can be so different, assuming RSU value is a constant here, and people say a 250k tc, is it for Y1 or Y3?
Year 1 is 95% cash 5% stock. Year 2 is 85% cash 15% RSU Year 3 is base + 40% RSU Year 4 is base + 40% RSU Year 1 and 2 cash component is base plus signon bonus **

yes. phd in machine learning. have offers from facebook and google too. but not so clear how to make an apple-to-apple tc comparison between these.
