Recently received an offer for lab126 in the Bay area. Title- Sde2 TC Avg 280k - 180k base Joining Bonus - 105/75 RSU - 115 units Exp - 8 yr Posting this as a data point for folks to use while negotiating.
Sorry don't understand. Base (180) + 1st year join (105) + rsu ( 115/4) ~= 325 for first year. Am I getting it wrong?
What's the equivalent of a unit to dollar?
~$1800-$1900

Thanks. What’s the position ? H/W or S/W ? What specialisation ? ML or FE/BE ? What sort of competing offers and negotiations ?
I got a recent offer at 235 and amazon friend told me that’s above avg. This seems really good if what I was told was correct.
I got similar offer, successfully negotiated to 260, Seattle area.
Looks like a great offer
looks like Amazon bay area offers have increased
Not trying to hijack but is my 235 offer still good? I’m 3 yoe
yoe dont matter. competing offers do. 235 is still a solid offer though.
280 is maxed out SDE2 range. Usually the people who get high end band TC are the ones that got a downlevel. 235 is above average and more than what a newly promoted SDE2 would get without counting any stock appreciation
45k less than OP tho - I don’t have competing offers but I make more at my current role so tried to use that. Did you have a competing offer OP?
So there is consensus on this thread that your offer is on the higher end for the role but confusion as to why. Do you know the reason ?
Years of experience? I guess I negotiated well. Tried to stay in a mindset of reaching a deal, throwing large undoable numbers at a company can backfire. Try to make it work for not just yourself, but also the band/ company. Also I have pretty strong credentials with publications and patents.
> Also I have pretty strong credentials with publications and patents. There you go. You must have come out as pretty smart too during the interviews & your experience might also be highly related to the position.
Thanks ! 👊
