This is what my recruiter sent me wtf is problem solving and logical maintainable code? Is it not algorithms? I'm assuming it's oop? SDE1 btw so for sure there's system design -.- **nterview structure will be somewhat similar to the below** Interview 1. Coding: Data Structures & Algorithms + Behavioral Based Interview Question Interview 2. Coding: Problem Solving + Behavioral Based Interview Question Interview 3. Coding: Logical & Maintainable code + Behavioral Based Interview Question Interview 4. System Design: Scalability and Operational Performance + + Behavioral Based Interview Question Interview 5. Interview with an Amazonian outside of the team- focusing on tech background + Behavioral Based Interview Question
System Design is not used for SDE 1 positions as SDE 1 is essentially a new grad/low experience. What's happening is you're technically applying for an SDE 2 role, but they will accept downgrading for an SDE 1 if they do well in the other areas.
Are you sure maybe it's an org to org thing? My friends friend (who interviewed for Alexa) got an actual system design for sde1. I have 10 months of experience out of school (not including internships) I think I qualify for the low experience, but lo and behold.
Yup - SD is not for SDE 1 interviews. I have 100+ SDE interviews and SD only makes it into SDE 1 loop if they want to assess at SDE 2 but will take a SDE 1 if the rest of their coding and leadership principles are solid.
I'm interviewing for aws if that matters btw
Oh okay. What did they ask you in the phone screen? I have one with aws as well.
I was asked sudoku solver
That’s some basic shit.
Good luck, I’m interviewing at Amazon soon too. Got that same list of things to prepare for.
I didn't know that we send all these details to candidates
I think it's cause my onsite wasn't scheduled yet and I still haven't had my recruiter call my initial recruiter sent me this after emailing to check up on me
How did you get the interview? Just curious
Had my onsite recently fair warning. The behavioral questions get repetitive and I was struggling to find new answers. Also there was about 3-4 per round instead of one. Got tired of talking about myself.
That’s crazy. I have an on site coming up. Guess I should prepare some extra stories about myself.
Highly recommended
My buddy's interview was mostly behavioral too, what were the difficulty of non behavioral stuff?

Yeah. Logical and maintainable is oop and clean code. Naming, method lengths, class structures, etc.
