Hi, I had my amazon onsite for sde at seattle and it has been about 7 working days so far. I think I did well in half of the interviews, average for 1 and not so well for 1. Still waiting and was wondering how many of you still get positive results after the standard 5 days. Most I see from blind looked negative. 3 YOE

Why some people are more successful than the other?
Sounds very long. I literally got an answer within 1 business day. Which interviews did you feel like you didn’t do great? I assume also sde2 by the yoe? (I interviewed one up)
The one I didn't do great was a tech interview, leetcode medium.
How many rounds were your interviews? And what was the difficulty? Mine was 4 mostly meds, 30min coding in each with about 15min for behaviorals. Had it very recently though, so still waiting.
Which level?
Wasn't stated. I asked about it but they claim to determine your level from the interview. It wasnt from a job posting but recruiter reached out to me.
Strange , recruiter didn’t send you job description?
I recently had my onsite for an L6 position and at the very end of day 5 the recruiter reached out to tell me they were preparing an offer
Awesome. congrats!
Thanks I guess the big part was that I kept reading if they didn't get back to you quickly that it would be a negative result. Which in my case turned out to be false
1 not so well or 2 averages should get a pass usually unless it is Facebook. However, 1 not so well and 1 average is 50/50 depending on the team.
Interesting. Didn't know that it can be viewed this way
It may depend on the level of position. The higher level, the more yes needed. I guess but hope it is not true.
Amazon has a 2&5 promise to all candidates that it interviews. Basically they will communicate with you within 2 business days for phone screens and 5 business days after on-site. If this is not the case ask the recruiter about the 2&5 promise and he/she should get back to you shortly.
The 2&5 promise is 95% of the time that they try to meet. But there could be possible work overload etc especially since career day just happened. Just trying to be understanding towards them. Dropped an email to my recruiter though.
Fyi, I got the result in the next day for both phone and onsite.
That sounds great!
I had my onsite on a thursday ~2 weeks ago. Recruiter reached me the next week at 4:30 PM on Friday with an offer. Said the schedules were busy with the interviewers so they took a while to meet. Also, I only answered half of one of my coding questions, and gave wrong time complexities on another. I just showed good problem solving skills I guess. So there is hope!
Really hopeful information here! Guess it's not all bad as blind posts sounded
If that’s the case you prob did very good in the bar raiser, hiring manager and LP What level did you interview ?
Most likely 👎
Likely I feel. Was thinking they might be busy with career day though
