Amazon or Adobe?

Which one should one go for if they have new grad offers from Amazon and Adobe ( returning intern ) ? I enjoyed working at Adobe but I have read bad things about Amazon's work culture.

Amazon > Adobe. Everything except WLB I reckon.

If you want to dedicate your life to your career, Amazon. If you want a life outside of your career, Adobe.

I'd say Adobe

Depends on your goals. If you care more about wlb, Adobe is your choice. About learning, then amazon is better since amazon will definitely push you harder than adobe

Hmm not true if you can push yourself at Adobe. Any big can company should have ample opportunities for one to grow or make impact. It's only preferences like working on specific technology that make some companies special. For everything else, most companies should provide that framework for you

Adobe has a fantastic WLB. Also, out of all the major corporations I’ve worked for, the fewest egos and nicest people. I have several friends who have worked and currently work at Amazon. Half of them like it; the other half hate it. It all depends on your team and manager, like someone above said. What office of Adobe’s is the offer for?

Working at Adobe might make you lazy. As a new grad I think Amazon would be a better choice in terms of learning opportunities.

I also agree with this. I feel I’ve already hit the top of my game and am getting bored after almost four years. I don’t want to/can’t move to San Jose where all the action is, so I need to find a faster-moving company in Seattle in the next year - waiting fir my last block of stock to vest (unless a better offer comes along, of course). There’s a lot of stability at Adobe though compared to my friends’ Amazon PIP horror stories.

100% agreed. Adobe is not ideal for new grads. When you are married and have kids, leave amazon and work at Adobe

As a new grad I would rather be pushed hard to build some good skills, experience, and habits. I’m glad I got pushed hard for a few years before coming to Adobe. It’s very easy to coast along in the culture at Adobe. In many cases even when you try to go above and beyond, the slow moving culture gets in the way and most new hires eventually conform to the pace. I’d go with Amazon now. If you get good experience there you can find a more relaxed job later when you have more responsibilities in your life.

Adobe has pretty bad culture in some places, e.g Magento :)
