New engineers should look for agencies or companies that do lots of jobs. To learn faster you need to get good at reading code you didn't write and knowing what was done and adding too it or fixing issues. @sPIE23 OP is asking for new grads and if new grads are concerned about WLB and not learning and doing good work at their early stages of career then they will have to work hard in their later stages of career. New grads can afford to have bad WLB and for a year or two and then move to another company to coast.
