An outstanding order of mine suddenly disappeared from my account. Customer care is clueless about how that happens. Anyone in the relevant teams here on blind?if it is a possible bug then perhaps it will trigger your interest
Paged Jeff. Pending arrival of technician.
Those banana eating technicians from banana republics won't be able to do much
Did you try turning it off and on?
I got turned off :p
Check under cancelled orders
Might be under archived orders
Nopes. It is fun, till morning, it had a tracking number and everything, now it is just gone. And without the order I'd(which I ofcourse don't remember) the customer care guys claim they can't find it :)
Yikes... make sure you don't get billed then
Highly doubt there is a table for that. Most likely SQS that was carrying your order died
Don't you receive an email confirmation after order? That should be enough to show the customere care to fix?
Yes I do. The order was split in two. One part was delivered. The other part, which I was tracking disappeared. If the order number remains the same after a split I can try that, it never occurred to me to look for it in the email to be honest, and surprisingly customer care didn't even suggest it. Dafq. They made me reinstall the app, reset my password, insisted I try both kind of logins(email and phone number based), claiming that for the same account the views are different, lol, made me login from the website and the app separately, made me clear my browser cache, and was about to suggest that I reinstall my os when I politely pointed to them that you guys also can't see the order, perhaps you should also format your hard drive and reinstall :)))))))
If you have the order confirmation with order id, it should be easier for support to hand that off to an engineering team
OP if you turned your email confirmations on, you should have received emails about the order and dispatch. Which in turn, should contain the order id.
Email address for me your phone number and email address and send it back to me
Should I include my social and mum's maiden name?
Just in case, I suggest that anyone who notice that an order got removed from their order list to check their Amazon Message Center. It's located in the "Your Account" page on Amazon, under "Email alerts, messages, and ads" and its called "Message Centre". (Yes, there's a typo error in the link's text.) If nobody erased any messages in the message center, there should be a 2nd message named "Your Amazon.*** order (#***-*****-****)". (First *** is the site extension based on your location such as Amazon.com or Amazon.ca or Amazon.jp, etc. Second sets of **** is your order number.) The message will starts with something like this: "Hello from Amazon.***. We're sorry to report we won't be able to obtain the following item from your order:" Long story short, it happens sometimes that sellers miscount their inventory when selling items through Amazon's own Warehouse. If you purchase one of the few last item of a kind and it ended up not being found in the warehouse and said item is not available anywhere at Amazon's reach, the order gets cancelled by Amazon itself. When the order is cancelled by Amazon itself, it seems like the order details doesn't get into the Cancelled Orders list and seems to have simply disappeared. The only way to confirm it is by the emails sent to your account's linked email account and the message in the Message Center. The worse thing about this kind of situation is that orders with multiple items that makes uses of Free Shipping option can get charged retro-actively for Shipping if the value of the order drop below the Free Shipping threshold. Also, if this is your situation, it's really important to check if you got your purchase refunded! If you got charged and didn't get refunded the partial amount (and taxes if applicable), you need to get in touch with Amazon Customer Service so that they can initiate the partial refund as soon as possible.
It must be eventually consistent.
Meaning?
Hash balancers must be out of sync
